Shield My Field risk bands: how to read them

Every developer on Shield My Field receives a Trust Score from 0 to 100. To make the information actionable, we group those points into four color bands. Here is how to read them.

Trusted (90-100)

Developer with a clean PROFECO record, lien-free property, complete permits, on-time deliveries, and positive buyer reviews. It does not mean zero risk — no real estate project does — but it means public signals verify what the developer promises.

Acceptable (80-89)

Meets legal requirements but shows one or two areas to watch: minor PROFECO complaints already settled, minor delays on past projects, or mixed reviews. Buying is viable with reinforced due diligence.

Caution (70-79)

Multiple yellow flags: complaints not resolved in favor of consumers, missing public evidence of a permit, or deliveries more than 6 months late. Consider alternatives; if proceeding, demand a guarantee trust and a contract reviewed by external counsel.

High Risk (<70)

Significant red flags: PROFECO rulings against the developer, encumbered properties, abandoned projects, lack of institutional response. We do not recommend purchase until public observations are resolved.

How the Score is calculated

Three weighted components: Legal Compliance and Certainty (40%), Track Record and Performance (35%), Public Reputation (25%). The full methodology is published and auditable — a transparency commitment, not a trade secret.

What the Score is NOT

  • Not a financial or delivery guarantee
  • Not a substitute for individualized legal advice
  • Does not measure design or location, only compliance and reputation
  • Changes over time as new data arrives
